Early on a Sunday morning, it is very early, and they and some other womens went and brought the spices that they had prepared to the tomb and they found that the tomb had been rolled away. This is an image, an icon of the soul of the follower of the Way.

This is what our hearts and our minds should look like! Every morning waking up early, coming with the spices that we have prepared for Him, the offering of love, that sweet smelling aroma that we come to Him with, which is our love and our prayer, our adoration, our devotion, our worship even, our silence.

So, you know, many of us wish we were there in that time and many of us have this, you know, maybe, illusion or hallucination that we would be among the women, because of our great love for Jesus, yes, we would have been among those women who would have gone early in faith to the tomb.

Well, the reality is there were many who were incredibly close to the Lord that didn't wake up that morning, that didn't go to the tomb that morning. And... and it doesn't matter whether we hypothesize about whether we would have been there or not. The reality is we have our own tomb to go visit every morning. That tomb, that empty tomb is our prayer room, our cell, our place of devotion and worship.

Every morning before the sun rises, we can wake up and go to that prayer room and light a candle in front of the icon and... and pour ourselves out like those spices, offer Him our love, offer Him our worship and our praise.
